Rustic Oak Bench.

This commission was for a Rustic Oak Bench that was to go in my customer's hallway.

It measured 140 cm x 40 cm and was made out of reclaimed Oak that was salvaged from the River Test in Hampshire.

The textured old Oak had absolutely heaps of character, I am always careful not to lose any of the naturally aged patina when using reclaimed timber, it's a lengthy process to preserve the wood but is always worth the effort.

This Hallway Bench has a shelf underneath the seat to store shoes etc, the legs were splayed giving a lovely traditional look to the piece.
