Oak & Concrete Bench.
This Bench was an experiment that I had been thinking about making for years!
I had the idea of creating a textured concrete base or legs for a piece of furniture using a method I had read about years ago, I dug two holes in the earth which I hand sculpted into the shapes that I had in my mind and then poured a white concrete mix into them which was left to set for a period of time.
The end result was exactly how I had imagined and hoped it would be, although problematic and time consuming I'm really pleased with the way the legs have turned out, they have a highly textured and naturally sculpted appearance which looks beautiful with the Oak.
The seat has been made out of reclaimed oak which I've limed and sealed with a flat varnish.
This Bench can live in the garden although the colourings will gradually go grey, It'll retain its current look if used as an internal bench and would look beautiful in a hallway or large bathroom.
This is an extremely heavy item which will need two strong people to lift!
